VERIFYING HIS STATUS -- Lansing City Clerk Debbie Miner checks the Voter Registration Card of Mayor Tony Benavides, just one of several steps required before a citizen is officially declared a candidate for political office in the Capitol City. Mayor Benavides completed the paperwork on March 18 and announced his candidacy at a lunchtime gathering at his Campaign Headquarters on Michigan Ave., across from the Lansing Center. |
