RIBBON-CUTTING EVENT
Lansing Mayor Tony Benavides (center) helps snip the ribbon that officially
signals the opening of the first of
175 townhouses and condominiums
being built by Abbey Homes just off
Saginaw Highway, next to Eastern and
Lansing Catholic Central High Schools.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony was held
June 1, in the new East Village
neighborhood. The upscale homes,
ranging in price from $130,000-$180,000,
are part of what local developers now
call "Lansing's Million Dollar Mile" along
Saginaw Highway in North Lansing.
This housing complex, along with
those
already under construction
on the northside, are clear and
compelling signs of Lansing's
economic development
and rejuvenation.
