.com
The most widely known extension known
on the Internet today. Registration for these
is only $16.95 per year, with no minimum requirements.
.net
The second most common extension, it usually designates
"network", but is often used as a backup
for a .com domain. Registration costs only $16.95
per year, with no minimum requirements.
.org
The
third most common extension, it usually designates
"organization". This is normally used
by non-profit organizations, or personal use.
Registration for these only costs $16.95 per year,
with no minimum requirements.
.biz
The
.biz domain extension will be primarily used for
commercial or business purposes. The guidelines
for .biz domains are: 1) Only characters in the
range of A to Z, 0 to 9 and hypens are allowed,
2) Names can not begin or end with a hypen 3)
The maximum length is 63 characters (exclusive
of the .biz portion). Registration for .biz will
be available on October 1, 2001, and will require
a minimum of two years for the initial registration
(at $16.95 per year).
.cc
The
.cc domain extension is now available for registration
to anyone. The cost for these domains is $74.95
per domain per year.
.cn
This domain extension was originally designated
for China businesses only, but is now available
to the rest of the world. Registration for these
domains is $74.95 per year.
.info
The
.info domain extension will be open to everyone.
Registration for these domains is available now,
with a minimum 2-year initial registration required
(at $16.95 per year).
.la
The
.la domain extension will allow companies and
individuals to establish geographic branding (mainly
in Los Angeles, Latin America, or Louisiana).
There are no minimum requirements for .la domains,
and the registration fee will be $74.95 per year
per domain.
.name
This extension is new, and is for all general
purposes. The cost for these domains is $16.95
per year.
.pro
The Solution for Professionals Online. Along with

comes in three forms: .med.pro, .law.pro, and

.us
The .us domain is the official country code top-level
domain for the United States within the global
domain name system. .us lets individuals, businesses,
organizations and government agencies establish
an American identity on the Web with a unique,
memorable domain name. Market research has shown
that .us names will be very popular with consumers
for applications like email, digital identity,
and personal websites. Government and public interest
organizations will use .us addresses to enable
citizen-centric e-Gov applications and to serve
the needs of the American people. Businesses will
use .us domain names to promote themselves as
Amercan companies. Any U.S. citizen or resident,
as well as any business or organization, including
federal, state, and local government with a bona
fide presence in the United States can register

.kids.us
The
.KIDS.US domain space is one that parents, educators
and children under 13 can trust for appropriate
content. It's the FIRST and ONLY Internet space
reserved specifically for children and allows

was legislated by Congress in 2002 to create in
