are very strong supporters of open source software,
mainly the (GNU/Linux commonly referred to as Linux
operating system). Open source software has allowed
us to provide cost effective and intelligent solutions
for our clients. As the Linux operating system has
grown over the years, the demand for support has
also risen significantly. Apex
has provided selective Linux consultation in the
past to local customers but we are considering
branching out this service to remote and small
business customers as well. Some items such as
server configuration and troubleshooting, to planned
designs for your network. Or maybe you need a
hand with a simple task or some advice for a large
project. Anything related to the Linux operating
system that falls within our coverage limits,
which are determined at the time we provide a
quote or estimate.

We
offer two different types of Linux consulting
support:
- Email
only support
This is a cost effective way to handle most
minor issues. All correspondence is handled
by email only and kept within our ticketing
system. All information exchange is done and
your account remains active even after the consulting
is complete, so that you can review notes or
information on it at any time. $60/hr.
- Phone
and remote support
This is generally the preferred option for more
complex tasks and continuous troubleshooting.
This often results in us remotely connecting
to your environment and walking through items
over the phone. We keep a record of the project
in our ticketing system for reference, same
as above. $170/hr.
Why should you pay for support if it can
be obtained elsewhere for free in online groups
and forums?
In
many cases, online forums and such provide excellent
support. But we can offer support that goes above
and beyond the forums by providing direct one
on one help and correspondence.
How does Apex handle the support services?
We
first like to gather as much information from
you as possible on what you would like to accomplish.
Based on this, we will recommend which method
above is most suitable to handle your case. If
you decide to proceed, we require half of the
projected total cost to be paid up front before
we start any work. This is more of a security
deposit to engage both parties in the project.
We bill by the hour, so the final cost may vary
from the estimated cost that is quoted up front.
What
if things don't turn out as expected?
If
it turns out that we are not able to help you,
we offer a 100% money back guarantee. We want
you to be satisfied with the work we do, however
we do not believe in charging clients if the job
is left unfinished.
